Amethyst
February’s birthstone is the Amethyst, symbolizing peace, love and positive dreams. A symbol of sincerity and security, Amethysts promote courage, happiness and spirituality.
Amethyst gemstones are always purple and can range from a deep lush violet to pale lavender. Amethyst has a deep association with royalty as purple was one of the hardest colours to dye clothing –therefore only royalty could afford it.
The ancient Greeks and Romans believed that drinking from a goblet made entirely of Amethyst would prevent them from becoming intoxicated. Many cultures associate Amethyst gemstones with piety and dignity.
Amethysts are a perfect stone to compliment you and your wardrobe.
