Canadian Diamonds
Simply put, Canadian diamonds come from Canadian Mines! Canada has become one of the major diamond-producing nations, with a vast potential of undiscovered natural wealth. Canadian diamonds are revered for their beauty and quality.
Each and every Canadian diamond is mined from some of the most ecologically sensitive and untouched environments in the world and comes with a certificate of authenticity. They are truly a Canadian treasure.
A Certificate of Origin accompanies each Canadian diamond; it’s own unique birth certificate that gives you absolute assurance your diamond is truly Canadian. This certificate also describes the pedigree of the stone, from the mine to the polished stone.
Canadian diamonds are laser inscribed with a unique identification number and a maple leaf to guarantee their Canadian authenticity. When you receive your Canadian diamond, you will also receive a certificate that matches the number that is inscribed in your diamond.
Canadian diamond companies were the first in the world to accompany diamonds with certificates to showcase pedigree.
The Code establishes a minimum standard based on records and a chain of warranties required to validate a Canadian diamond claim.
The Code allows Canadian Diamonds to be traced from the Canadian mine to the diamond jewellery retailer, providing consumers with a method to authenticate Canadian diamonds sold by a code number.
A conflict diamond is a diamond that originates from an area or areas controlled by rebel groups. These stones are often mined by slave labour and used to fund military action. At Ben Moss, we take this situation very seriously. We follow the Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct as well as the Kimberly Process, which is a group of participants of the world's rough diamond production that follows procedures to disallow the trade in conflict diamonds.
Initiated in 2000 and spearheaded by South African Government, the Kimberly Process was developed as an international certification scheme to prevent conflict diamonds from entering legitimate markets.
